College can be...really social, and pretty lonely.

A time of amazing freedom, and a total pressure cooker. The best years of your life, except when it's not.

We're Dr. Sarah Olivo and Dr. Liz Seidler, two clinical psychologists who've helped students navigate the highs and lows of college for over a decade. In this podcast, we listen to your stories and use them as our guide. Hear us give actionable advice to students just like you who are trying to balance work and fun, manage the pressures of school, and feel at home in the dorm.

This podcast is a reminder that you're not alone. We all need a bit of help tuning out the noise, finding humor in the struggle, and doing the hard work of living the best years of your life.

Dr. Sarah Olivo

I’m a cognitive-behavioral psychologist with over a decade of experience helping people make the best of their college experience. I think empathy and humor are pretty key to good therapy, which I combine with tools from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and mindfulness-based CBT. In 2014, I co-founded a boutique group practice with my brilliant work wife, Dr. Sameena Groves.

As well as being a psychologist, I am the mother of two children and a bulldog. When I’m not in therapy sessions, I’m often going on a family walk with our dog or driving way too far so I can try a new restaurant. The skills you’re going to hear me talking about in the podcast? You’ll find me using the very same because life for everyone is messy and wonderful.

Dr. Liz Seidler

I am a clinical psychologist delivering evidence based treatments over the past decade to young adults. Through traditional Cognitive Behavioral interventions and more specialized treatments such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, I continue to feel immensely privileged to team up with young people and help them become more sure of themselves and find their way in the world. In 2017, I established my own private practice where college kids continue to inspire me with their energy and resiliency, teach me about new apps to download and how to be cooler (wishful thinking?).

Outside of the office I am usually with my tribe of 3 kids and husband, finding a new place to run or caught in a book. My family's busy life provides many opportunities to make lemonade out of lemons and use the skills you will hear about on this podcast.
